The Second Xiangya Hospital of Central SouthUniversity Completed the First Patient Enrollment inItsClinical Trial Center for the ReachTact® TAVR-AssistedRobotic System

Led by Academician Han Yaling and co-chaired by Professors PanXiangbinandWang Yan, the clinical trial of the TAVR-assisted robotic systemsponsoredbyZhicheng Medical has been carried out in an orderly and steady mannerintheDepartment of Cardiology, the Second Xiangya Hospital of Central SouthUniversity.

On May 11, 2026, the team led by Professors Zhou Shenghua andFangZhenfeifrom the hospital completed the enrollment of an HIV-positive patient. Thiscasefurther evidences the strengths of the surgical-assisted robotic systemindeliveringhigh-quality patient treatment while lowering the risk of occupational exposureamong medical staff. It also marks a crucial step forward in exploringtheclinicaladaptability of this clinical trial for the diagnosis and treatment of special patientpopulations. 

Following the procedure, the teams of Professor Zhou ShenghuaandProfessorFang Zhenfei gave high recognition to the ease of use andstabilityoftheReachTact® Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement AssistanceSystem. Theyparticularly commended the device's precise force feedback duringoperation,theconvenience of synchronized dual control between the delivery systemandtheguidewire, and the enhanced surgical efficiency enabled by the quick-actionbuttons.The team expressed that the system effectively improves procedural accuracyandefficiency, offering a safer, minimally invasive treatment option for patientswithaortic valve disease, including those with special anatomical considerations.
